Believe it or not, good skin care starts in your head!
Each of us has a “skin care personality.” The
way you think about your skin care needs and the way you
go about finding answers affects the results you get.
Find your skin care personality below. Or perhaps you’re
an undiscovered type? If so, let us know at
The Warrior: The Warrior
is constantly battling with her skin. She views her skin
and its problems as the enemy, and tries to win the war
with strong products and aggressive methods. She is drawn
to products that "combat" dryness, "zap"
blemishes, and are "anti" every problem under
the sun! Her intentions are good, but the result is that
she beats up on her skin. Not surprisingly, her skin responds
with even more problems.
The Exasperated: The exasperated
is most likely a former Warrior. She fought the good fight
and lost! She doesn't want to give up, but she is so frustrated
by the lack of results she doesn't know what to do next.
The Explorer: The Explorer
has gone everywhere and tried everything. Undaunted, she
continues on her quest. Unfortunately, the exploration is
part of her problem. She continually exposes her skin to
so many products and ingredients that could be very harmful,
some of them quite strong and some of them totally wrong
for her skin. Not to mention that she wastes a lot of time
and money on these travels.
The Disillusioned: The
disillusioned is most likely a former Explorer. She believed
in one line after another and was disappointed every time.
She is still willing to try, but she is running out of steam!
Her experience has taught her to be skeptical, and she understandably
finds it hard to believe that a simple regimen could finally
show her good results.
The Procrastinator: The
Procrastinator probably had good enough skin when she was
in her 20's and 30's, so she never bothered much with skin
care. But time took its toll on her skin, and now she would
like a little help. Lacking experience with skin care products,
she doesn't know how to make the right choice for her skin.
She will try a few things and with no results, she is likely
to quickly give up.
The Avoider: She's rejected
everything because she was turned off by our culture's extreme
fixation on beauty and perfection. But she threw the baby
out with the bath water. Good skin is about good health.
It has nothing to do with vanity or unrealistic ideals.
Avoiding any type of skin care only creates problems over
time. Even the most basic, sensible regimen would show her
great results.
